Dear Andrew,
Thank you for contacting me to express your support of strong funding for H.R. 4221, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Tourette's syndrome research. I welcome feedback from my constituents and appreciate your interest in this important issue. I agree with you and believe that it is vitally important to ensure that the NIH is funded at the highest level possible.
The NIH, as the nation's medical research agency, is on the verge of countless unimaginable discoveries that have the potential to aid in curing disease and bringing relief to thousands of suffering Americans. As you may know, I was proud to support legislation which provided $5 billion to the NIH. These funds are helping to empower our nation's best scientists to discover new cures, advance technology, and solve some of our greatest health challenges.
Rest assured, I know the value of NIH research and the hope that it brings to millions of people suffering from diseases, including Tourette's syndrome, that this research may one day cure. I will always fight for NIH research and will oppose any bill that reduces NIH funding. I am glad that we agree on this important issue, and I look forward to supporting the funding for the NIH and H.R. 4221 as the 113th Congress continues with its legislative agenda.
I am always eager to hear your concerns and look forward to working with you in the future. For more information, please visit my office online atwww.hankjohnson.house.gov. Thank you again for contacting me.
Sincerely,
